The Coconut Grove Arts Festival (CGAF) may take center stage for three unforgettable days each February, but its impact lasts all year long.
From scholarships and artist mentorships to classroom visits and hands-on creative experiences, CGAF is helping shape Miami’s next generation of artists. And on Give Miami Day, Thursday, Nov. 19, the community has a chance to help make that impact even bigger.
For more than six decades, the Grove Arts Festival has celebrated artistic excellence. Now, it’s inviting Miami to invest in what comes next.
A Legacy Worth Supporting
“The Coconut Grove Arts Festival has always been about more than tents and exhibitions. It’s about opportunity, education and the belief that creativity transforms lives,” said Board Member Ben Kuehne, who is leading this year’s CGAF campaign. “Give Miami Day lets us keep investing in Miami’s young artists and ensure our festival’s legacy reaches far beyond a single weekend.”
That legacy extends well beyond the festival grounds. CGAF awards scholarships, supports emerging artists, supplies local classrooms with art materials and brings creative opportunities into schools and neighborhoods throughout Miami.

Your Gift Goes Beyond the Festival
something worth knowing: Give Miami Day donations support CGAF’s educational and community outreach programs, not the operating costs of the festival itself.
Executive Director Camille Marchese emphasized how important that distinction is. “Every dollar given on Give Miami Day supports the programs that inspire young imaginations, mentor new artists and keep the arts accessible to everyone,” Marchese said. “Your generosity helps ensure that the Coconut Grove Arts Festival remains a source of pride, creativity and opportunity for generations to come.”
Small Gifts. Big Creative Impact.
Every November, Give Miami Day brings Miami together for one of the community’s biggest celebrations of generosity. Last year, donors contributed a record-breaking nearly $43.8 million to more than 1,400 nonprofit organizations, including CGAF.
This year’s giving begins early, on Saturday, Nov. 14, and continues through Thursday, Nov. 19. Matching gifts and foundation incentives can help make donations go even further.
Here’s What Your Generosity Makes Possible
Your Give Miami Day contribution helps CGAF:
- Award up to $75,000 annually in scholarships to aspiring young artists.
- Nurture rising talent through the Emerging Artist Program.
- Bring professional artists into classrooms through the Visiting Artist Program.
- Provide $25,000 toward new CGAF-branded sails for Coconut Grove-based Shake-A-Leg.
- Put art supplies into young hands through youth and community programs.
- Spark creativity and discovery through interactive experiences such as The Inner Artist and the Young Collectors Club.
These aren’t just festival activities. They’re investments in young people, artistic opportunity and a more creative Miami.
Miami’s Creativity Starts With Community
“The Coconut Grove Arts Festival has always been powered by its community,” Kuehne added. “Whether you attend every year, grew up visiting or simply believe in the power of the arts to change lives for the good, your support on Give Miami Day makes a real difference. Together, we can ensure the arts continue to inspire, uplift and empower Miami for generations to come.”
